Bio:

Having completed a BA in English Literature and Language (University of Oxford, 2011-14) and an MA in 20th Century Literature and Culture (University College London, 2014-15) Oliver in now a PhD candidate at the University of Liverpool. He also teaches several undergraduate modules alongside his own study, and has presented at conferences including the 2018 BAAS PGR Conference, and the 2019 Conference ‘The Place of Memory and Memory of Place’, at St Anne’s College, Oxford.

Research:

With interests in 20th century literature and the postmodern, Oliver is currently studying presentation of children in the literature of postmodernism. He aims thereby to update the already sizeable body of work on the literary child of other contexts. Like many of these studies, he is particularly interested in how the literary presentation of children relates to contemporaneous social discourse surrounding children, childhood and child culture.
