In the month of July, five students from the School of the Arts will be undertaking a 4-week International Summer Skills programme with our partner company, Pagoda Projects. These five places are fully funded by the school, following a difficult shortlisting process of 23 applications.

How Does it Feel? Interpersonal Understanding and Affective Empathy

Professor Thomas Schramme has been awarded £350,000 for the project “How Does it Feel? - Interpersonal Understanding and Affective Empathy”. The grant application was selected within the newly established UK and German research collaboration programme between UKRI’s Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft - DFG). Thomas will pursue this project with his colleague Professor Neil Roughley (Essen University), who has been awarded €572.000.

From the 11th November-15th November, the School of the Arts hosted its first Study Abroad Week. Across the five days, Study Abroad Officer Charlotte Fairclough led pre-application workshops and partner university sessions for all SOTA students who are interested in studying abroad.
