Social Life

As part of The University of Liverpool English Language Centre you will be offered an exciting range of trips and activities to make the most of your time in our brilliant city. We have a dedicated team who will make sure that you have the best experience possible throughout your whole student journey with the English Language Centre. Whether you are on a short, summer course, studying Pre-sessional English or are an Activate English or IELTS student, we are here to help you make the most of your experience.

  • You will meet new people and try new things.
  • You can see more of the UK on our day trips.
  • You will learn more about UK customs and culture.

We run regular trips to local landmarks, including a Beatles bus tour from Penny Lane to Strawberry Fields, trips to Anfield and Goodison Park, home of the Liverpool football clubs, and walking tours of famous sights. There is so much to see and do, with lots of shopping, history and culture. We can’t wait to make you feel at home here.

You can also sign up to our trips across the UK. We run many trips within the Liverpool area as there is so much to see and do, but we also arrange longer day trips at weekends. Some recent examples of trips we have been on include Stratford-Upon-Avon, the Lake District and Chester, but we are adding exciting new places to our schedule all the time. We work with professional tour providers from across the city who help to run these trips and make sure that you have a fabulous time.

If you want to stay closer to home, we run regular activities within the university and local area, including pizza and film nights, board games and afternoon trips such as Anfield, home of Liverpool Football Club and exciting ghost walks of Liverpool.

The English Language Centre has a student WhatsApp group that you can join when you arrive to hear more about what’s happening in the social programme that week. The WhatsApp group will also help you to meet new people and make friends outside of your classroom so that you can create your own social activities with people who share your interests.

You can also see examples of our students out and about by following us FacebookTwitter and Instagram, or plan your time with us by looking at our current social calendar.
