10-Week Pre-Sessional English (October Start)

Please note: the application deadline for this programme has now closed. If you are looking to study on one of our Pre-Sessional English courses, please see our main pages here for information on courses that are currently available.

Due to the increased number of students who will start their main academic programmes in January or February 2021, the University of Liverpool has introduced an additional 10-week Pre-Sessional English course to begin in October 2020.

Students who complete this programme will complete their Pre-Sessional assessments in December 2020, before progressing to their main programme. This course will be eligible for a fee discount as part of the University of Liverpool's Global Community Initiative.

This course is fully online, and you will receive up to 12 hours of interactive, online tuition each week with experienced tutors. The course takes a flipped learning approach, so you will need to do approximately 3 hours of preparation and self-study per day, and 5 hours at the weekend.

You will also have regular one-to-one tutorials in which you will receive formative feedback on your work and progress.

For more information about what you can expect from the Pre-Sessional English course, please see our dedicated pages here.

For more information about which main academic programmes have January or February start dates, please see the university's dedicated page here.

Dates and Fees

In addition to the 30% discount as part of the University's Global Community Initiative, any student progressing from the Pre-Sessional course to an academic course at the University of Liverpool in academic year 2020/21 will also receive a fee discount on the fees for their academic programme.

This further discount will be equivalent to 20% of the original fee for the 10 week Pre-Sessional course. This brings the total discount available to 50%. Please see below for more details.
