Experience

During the early part of my career I taught English for the Adult Education Annex of Gothenburg University, Sweden and for the British Council, Malaysia.  Since moving to Liverpool I have undertaken a variety of roles within the ELC, including teaching, administrative and management posts.  During this period I have also held posts at University College Salford, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool Hope University, as well as consultancies in communication skills for the National Health Service and various local companies.

Interests and areas of expertise

Most of my time these days is spent working with external clients, contributing to the development of new courses and making sure the whole world knows about the fabulous work we do at the ELC.  However, I do still enjoy contributing to teacher development courses when the opportunity arises.  I am particularly interested in the teaching of pronunciation and in the cross-cultural and language issues faced by overseas trained medical staff.

Favourite thing about Liverpool

I love Liverpool because there is always something to do, from the regular music festivals, Arts events and sporting competitions to the opportunities for relaxing time in the beautiful Wirral countryside, which is easily accessible by train from Liverpool city centre.
