I first trained to teach in Prague in 2003, where I worked for a number of years with International House and took my DELTA.  I have taught a wide range of classes; General English, Business English, Academic English, and from Beginner to Post-Proficiency (A1-C2+).  I trained as a CELTA trainer while in the Czech Republic and when we came to the UK I started to work as a freelance English teacher and teacher trainer, until I started working for the University of Liverpool in 2016.

Interests and areas of expertise

During my studies for my Masters in Education, I particularly focused on the affordances of Technology Enhanced Learning; an area in which I am still keen to keep developing.  Another key area of interest for me is that of teacher development, and how best to provide both initial teacher training and further professional development for working teachers.

Favourite thing about Liverpool

I love the international flavour of Liverpool and its friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
