Advanced Manufacturing with Lasers:
Additive, Subtractive and Formative Advanced Manufacturing with Lasers. Understanding the dynamic relationships between mechanical and thermal effects in materials.
Developing laser processes on the micro and nano level of scale, in particular an understanding of the problems and principles of working at such a small scale. The use of Finite Element methods and solid modelling as a research and teaching tool. Iterative methods of process control of complex manufacturing processes. Optical trapping. Material processing with advanced states of polarisation. Laser Forming. Ultra-Short pulsed lasers. Additive Manufacturing. Spatial Light Modulation. Laser Beam Engineering.
