    Personal Statement

I am an educationist and advocate of the passionate, curious mind. All humans are instinctively equipped to be endlessly exploratory, to ask questions, and to be fascinated by the world and other minds around them. My ultimate goal is to foster students’ passion and curiosity through my research and teaching methodologies. I have joined the School of Engineering in 2013, as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. I have earned both my BEng and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from AAST, Alexandria, Egypt - First Class Honours. I have over 12 years of teaching and academic experience in the field of Biologically Inspired Robotics, Mechatronics, Unmanned Systems and Engineering Education. Currently, I am supervising multiple Mechanical Engineering Capstone Projects and teaching design modules. I have established the University of Liverpool Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles (ULR) group, for fostering underwater robotics undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
