Ada Lovelace Activity Day - 2020

The EEECS EDI team assisted with Ada Lovelace Day, which was organised by a small team from the Faculty of Science & Engineering. The event was held on 6th October to celebrate Ada Lovelace's life, and was open to students in Years 10 to 13. The event consisted of a hands-on coding session, followed by a career’s carousel session with experts from different areas of STEM, and concluded with a Twitter competition to draw a picture of Ada Lovelace.

The event attracted around 45 attendees from local Schools (e.g. Kings Leadership Academy, Hope Academy, The City of Liverpool College), in addition to freshers from University of Liverpool.

EEECS also contributed to the 1st prize (£100 vouchers), awarded to Miss Laura Hill from The City of Liverpool College, for her creative artwork (below left). The runner-up was Angel Burrows (£50 vouchers), who is a Year 1 student in the Maths Department, with a colourful artwork (below right). The Committee aims to run this event again next year.
