Organic Geochemistry: specialising in the analysis of biomarkers including lipids, amino acids, pigments in samples from biota, sediments and particles. 

Nutrient Biogeochemistry: specialising in the analysis of inorganic and organic nutrients in seawater, dissolved gases, phytoplankton diversity and abundance, and rates of carbon and nutrient uptake and cycling. 

Trace Metal Laboratory: specialising in the detection and speciation of trace metals and metalloids in marine waters and freshwaters using electro-analytical and spectroscopic techniques.
