The University of Liverpool’s Sustainability team has launched a new tool to create the first record of wildlife across all University sites.

BioLiv is a web-based system, created using the National Biodiversity Networks (NBN) biological toolkit ‘Indicia’, tailored to the University of Liverpool. It allows anyone with an interest in recording wildlife to submit data online.

It has been developed by Daniel Finegan, a student within the School of Environmental Sciences, as part of his MSc research project.

Wildlife sightings are easily recorded on the website by entering information into a simple form. Staff, students and members of the public are all invited to become a wildlife recorder.

Staff and students are encouraged to get involved and use the BioLiv website to record instances of wildlife on campus.
