The Department of Earth Sciences at Liverpool University will be hosting this 2 hour INSET course specifically designed to support Earth Science teaching for KS3 Science teachers. This course will focus on ideas suitable for teaching parts of the curriculum concerned with the rock cycle and rock classification.

The sessions planned include:

  • How to identify and describe rocks
  • The rock cycle
  • The formation of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks
  • 2D and 3D modelling of rocks  
  • Measuring rock porosity
  • Opportunities for participants to discuss good practice and share teaching ideas

The course fee is £50, including tea/coffee, resources, folder and course CD.
