MV Marissa of Liverpool is taking part in the River Festival

The University of Liverpool’s research vessel MV Marissa has now moored in the Canning Half Tide Dock. She will be there for the next two weeks in order to take part in the International Mersey River Festival which takes place between the 13th & 15th of June.

The Marissa will have good company in Canning Half Tide Dock as a number of tall ships will be berthed alongside her when they arrive for the festival next week. The Marissa’s berthing companion, from Sandon Dock, the steam tug Daniel Adamson is also there, tied up next to the Maritime Museum within The Albert Dock. This steam tug is on the National Register of Historic Vessels ranking alongside the likes of the Cutty Sark and HMS Victory in significance and should be well worth a visit.

If you are visiting, our research boat is located, handily for refreshments, right next to the Pump House.

See you there.
