Second year student Varnit Jain, from the University of Liverpool’s DAMC CDT, has been awarded the Best Poster Prize at the CCP5 CaMML Spring School 2026 for his poster titled “Association effects in liquid battery electrolytes.” The event took place between 13-17th April at Daresbury Laboratory.
Reflecting on the spring school, Varnit said: “I had an incredible time at CaMML, diving deep into the intersection of machine learning and materials science. From the nuances of optimisation methods to the cutting-edge developments in Machine Learning Interatomic Potentials (MLIPs), the event showcased how deep learning is fundamentally reshaping the frontiers of engineering.”
