The School of Dentistry’s Research Strategy aims to support and promote research at the School. We recently introduced a pump-priming funding scheme which accepts applications for small awards to enable early career researchers to obtain pilot data in order to support larger-scale applications for external research funding in the future.

Following independent assessment of the applicants, the School of Dentistry and Dental Hospital Research Committee is pleased to announce that the Oral Health Research Grant Award recipients are Dr Kasia Gurzawska-ComisDr Nick Longridge and Mr Ahmed Jebril. Kasia will investigate genomic aspects of bone regeneration, Nick will be conducting a pilot study concerning inflammatory biomarkers in pulpal blood and Ahmed will explore the experiences of head and neck cancer patients and their views on routine dental care.

We congratulate and wish Kasia, Nick and Ahmed all the best in their research endeavours.
