Why Choose Us?

A class leading Dental school

The home of advanced dentistry

As part of the University of Liverpool, we're one of the largest dental schools in the UK, training the next generation of dentists, as well as qualified dental professionals as they develop their careers.

Throughout our history we've been pioneers in the biology and practice of dentistry, through an innovative research programme.

All of this knowledge quickly finds its way into our undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD teaching, which wins consistently high ratings in the main independent university surveys.

Quality clinical training

With a 160 station clinic and busy dental hospital next door, we can offer you tremendous clinical training, complemented by learning suites that feature the latest simulation and interactive technology.

You'll learn from experienced, practising, senior professionals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and research interests with the people they teach, whether undergraduates or fellow surgeons.

To aid professional development the school offers postgraduate programmes in specialist fields such as orthodontics and conscious sedation, as well as a full programme of CPD courses for every member of the dental team.

Dedicated to your success

We're a friendly community, offering great support to all our students.

As an undergraduate you'll have your own personal tutor from day one and we've a unique online assessment system that lets you plan your study, get detailed feedback and create your own detailed e-portfolio of work.

At postgraduate level we provide excellent research training and great study facilities, as well as supportive supervision. And at every level, you'll encounter academic staff ready to help you.

There's a good sports and social life within the school and this, with small class sizes, is why staff and students tend to be on first name terms within a short period of time.

A Liverpudlian welcome

Built on the banks of the Mersey, in North West England, Liverpool is a fantastic place to study, live and work.

There's still evidence everywhere of Liverpool's glorious maritime heritage, although these days many of the historic warehouses, on the Mersey and in the city, have been transformed into chic apartments, cafes and offices.

The cost of living here is low by UK standards. Property is affordable, either to buy or rent, although you may find your budget stretched by the incredible shopping and leisure opportunities the city offers!

Culture here is buzzing. There's a rich music scene, more galleries and museums per square mile than any UK city outside London, and a huge range of restaurants to sample, including those in China Town.

There are also two Premier League football teams. And crowning it all are the residents. Liverpudlians are some of the friendliest, most humorous people you're ever likely to meet.
