About

Personal Statement

I am a lecturer in Spanish in the Department since 2020.
I graduated in English language and literature with a minor in French in 2017 at the University de Santiago de Compostela (Spain). In 2015 I did an Erasmus exchange at the University of Rennes 2 (France), as part of my programme, where I had the opportunity to participate as a voluntary teacher at the Maison de l’Europe showing primary students cultural aspects from Spain and Galicia.
After my degree, I completed an MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Sevilla (2018), where I also had the opportunity to volunteer teaching Spanish to political refugees in Seville. This has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my career so far. As part of my Masters’ program, I also taught Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes in Dublin for two months, covering all CEFR levels and teaching Spanish to bilingual kids. All these experiences allowed me to work as a Teaching Assistant in Bordeaux (France) during the school year 2018-2019, working with Secondary students of different levels as well as teaching Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes in Bordeaux.
When I returned to Spain, I coursed a MA in Secondary School Education (Foreign Languages) at the University of Santiago de Compostela (2019-2020) while teaching Spanish to international students at the University.
Working now as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool, my main interests are digital education, interculturality, gamification and digital humanities.

My main research papers at the moment have been:
"Modern American Drama and its representation on screen: Tennessee Williams’s A Streetcar Named Desire and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (2017)
“De Australia A Coruña solo hay un salto. Interculturalidad en el aula de ELE”(2018)
"Gamificación en la enseñanza de inglés para adultos. Diseño de un escape room digital: “Stay at home to escape”" (2020)
