How to report suspect emails

‌When forwarding a suspicious email to Computing Services we need you to include the full headers so all of the information about the email is included:

Outlook 2019 and 2016

  • Double-click on the message to open it
  • On the Message tab, there is a group of icons under the title Respond
  • Click the More button and then select Forward as Attachment

  • Enter postmaster@liv.ac.uk in the To: box 
  • Click Send 
     

Outlook 2013

  • Double-click on the message to open it
  • On the Message tab, there is a group of icons under the title Respond
  • Click the More button and then select Forward as Attachment

  • Click Send

Outlook 2010

  • Double click on the message to open it
  • On the Message tab, there is a group of icons under the title Respond
  • Click the More button and then select Forward as Attachment

  • Enter postmaster@liv.ac.uk in the To... box 
  • Click Send 

Webmail

  • Create a new email  
  • Drag the suspicious message from the list of emails in your Inbox into the new email. You will see the email conversation being dragged into the email as shown in the red box below. 

  • The message will then be attached to your new email 
  • Enter postmaster@liverpool.ac.uk in the To… box
  • Click Send

Outlook 2016 for Mac

  • In your inbox, select the message you wish to forward as an attachement
  • Click the Attachment button on the toolbar - this will allow you to send the message as an attachment. 
  • Enter postmaster@liverpool.ac.uk in the To: box
  • Click Send

Mail on Mac

  • Create new email message
  • From your inbox (or whichever folder the message is in), drag the email you wish to forward as an attachment and drop it into the new message. 
  • Enter postmaster@liv.ac.uk in the To... box 
  • Click Send
