Windows updates (Windows 7)

All of the Windows machines supported by Computing Services are set so any security updates are installed automatically but you may not have this set on your own PC or laptop.

To view and change your setting you should:

  1. Click the Start menu and click on Control Panel
  2. Click the Windows Update option
  3. Click on Change Settings
  4. Ensure the Install updates automatically (recommended) is set
  5. Select the update frequency to be Every Day
  6. Select the update time to be a time that you typically have the computer switched on
  7. Click OK

  3. Click on Check online for updates from Microsoft Update
