Update for Windows 10 MWS PCs (staff only)

Computing Services is working to ensure that all staff remain in a supported, patched and secure environment with the latest version of Windows 10.
Staff who use a Managed Windows Service (MWS) PC running Windows 10 will therefore need to make sure they are running the latest version, which is the "October 2018 update".
If a PC is running an earlier version of Windows 10 - either the "November update" (2015), "Creators update", or "April 2018 update" - please update to the October 2018 version as soon as possible.
By upgrading now, staff can do so at their own convenience prior to any forced upgrade being pushed out by Computing Services.

Staff using a PC with an old version of Windows 10 MWS alongside an installation of SecureDoc - an encryption tool designed to protect files on devices such as laptops - will receive a separate email from Computing Services with instructions for updating to the latest version of Windows 10.
Staff using a PC with an earlier version of Windows (e.g. Windows 7) can upgrade to Windows 10 by creating an installer on a USB stick using the MWS Installer utility available from Install University Applications.
