The School of Psychology facilitates access to a vast array of psychology specialisms, from cognitive neuroscience, development psychology and abnormal psychology to applied psychology disciplines, such as forensic and investigative.

Through the Centre for Critical and Major Incident Psychology(CAMI), we are vastly experienced in how psychology can be applied to effectively deal with critical and major incidents. This essential aspect is applicable and therefore beneficial to a number of industries, including the nuclear industry, emergency services, armed forces and public health bodies.

We harness CAMI's world-leading research, education and training to help organisations and their people develop their capabilities in areas such as:

  • Evaluating and interpreting complex situations.
  • Problem solving, decision making and avoiding decision inertia.
  • Documenting decisions effectively.
  • Leading and working with multi-agency teams.
  • Dealing with the public and the media.
