This level 6 module is the final Oncology and Patient Care Module. The module will utilise a blended approach, comprising lectures, tutorials, simulation and study days, to further develop the oncology knowledge gained at level 5. Learners will explore and evaluate oncology and management options for neurological and rare cancers, palliative care, survivorship, end-of-life care, and holistic management of patients with complex needs.
As in previous oncology modules, a case-based approach will be adopted to facilitate application of knowledge and skills to real-world patient case scenarios.
There are two assessment components:
1. Case Study Assignment (50%) (2,500 words)
Learners will focus on one area of oncology, related to the advanced oncology themes covered in the module. They are expected to investigate their subject theme, bringing together research evidence to support their discussions.
2. Unseen Exam (50%) (90 minutes)
The Unseen Exam will involve two sections: multiple choice and short answer questions where learners are able to demonstrate knowledge and skills acquired.
