This module is the second within the Optics and Ophthalmology theme and builds upon the foundational knowledge developed in ORTH152. Here you will further develop your understanding of this topic by applying theoretical knowledge to the investigation and management of common ophthalmic conditions and diseases. This module introduces key principles of ophthalmic pharmacology and supports you to apply these concepts across a range of ocular conditions, alongside the development of core ophthalmic clinical skills used in the identification and assessment of common eye disease.
Learning and teaching methods are designed to integrate theoretical understanding with practical application. Assessment is through two written examinations and a clinical competency assessment.
