This module builds on the Foundations of Research Part I module and aims to enable students to acquire advanced understanding of how to carry out academically impactful research, that benefits business, society, and/or the environment and is consistent with the principles of ethics, integrity and open science, and associated topics such as publishing in high quality journals and presenting at international conferences, international collaborations and networks, research project and data management, ongoing research training and development, engagement with end-users of research, and applying for funding, and critically reflect on the implications for their own research and development as a researcher. Students will also receive guidance enabling them to write the second part of their research proposal (research design, research methods, project management, data management plan, and responsible AI research practices as well as implications for their research in terms of ethics, integrity and open science).
