Managing Responsible Business in a Globalised World

Code: ULMS567

Credits: 20

Semester: Semester 2

This module is designed to equip students with systematic knowledge of the approaches, processes, actors, and current issues of corporate sustainability in a globalised world. This module advances students’ prior knowledge of business ethics, responsible business and sustainability. This module introduces students to environmental and social issues associated with globalisation and explore appropriate corporate responses and strategies to the societal issues by incorporating the knowledge about approaches, processes, and stakeholders in corporate sustainability.

This module contributes to society by facilitating learning about business sustainability in different ways: cognitive, affective and behavioural. Students will be equipped with sources and digital learning materials to guide their reflections on how multinational corporations can be both the problem and the solution to many environmental and social issues. The learning materials will also support students in practicing reflexivity in their professional role as business managers as well as global citizens. The authentic assessment of the module is designed to capture students’ learning journey based on group and individual reflection on corporate sustainability and being (or becoming) responsible business leaders.
