Physical Geography Field Skills

Code: SOES267

Credits: 15

Semester: Semester 2

Fieldwork is a fundamental component of physical geography, enabling students to observe landscapes, processes, and environmental changes first-hand. Collecting and analysing data in the field develops practical skills, enhances critical thinking, and deepens understanding of how physical systems operate, linking theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts. This module will provide students with direct experience of conducting fieldwork, applying a range of techniques to investigate environmental processes, interactions, and their variation across time and space. It also fosters research skills through hands-on opportunities to design, execute, analyse, and present an independent field-based research project.
