The module explores the basic processes that have helped shape landforms across the world, with a predominant focus on glacial, aeolian, and coastal environments. The module begins with an introduction to how geomorphic processes operate and forces that influence geomorphic change including concepts used to interpretation of past environments from geomorphic form. This is followed by three components, each comprising four sessions, that cover glacial, aeolian and coastal geomorphology. The module is delivered through weekly in-person lectures, a day fieldwork focussed on glacial landforms, and two formative data interpretation practicals that develop skills in analysing aeolian and coastal forms and processes. Assessment is designed to build applied understanding including coursework based on the field work and a written exam.
