Applied Anatomy and Dissection

Code: BIOS304

Credits: 15

Semester: Semester 2

This module is a core component in Year 3 of the BSc Anatomy and Human Biology. It is a practical module that includes cadaveric dissection in the Human Anatomy Resource Centre (HARC).

Over the course of a full semester, students conduct a thorough and systematic exploration of the gross and functional anatomy of a region of their choice, through cadaveric dissection and investigation into a unique research topic.

Students build upon the foundational knowledge and skills developed in earlier modules at an advanced level, gaining an appreciation of anatomical or clinical problems facing the modern world, and how their skills and knowledge can be applied towards solving these problems in various workplace settings.

The module will be assessed through a mixture of written, oral and practical tasks.
