Dame Lorna Muirhead, DBE, CStJ, SRN, SCM, MTD, FRCM, FRCOG, FJMU, Hon LLD

Dame Lorna Muirhead has spent most of her working life as a Midwife in Toxteth. In 1997 Dame Lorna became President of the Royal College of Midwives, the largest and oldest midwifery organisation in the world. In 2000 she was awarded a DBE for services to Midwifery. As President of the Royal College of Midwives, Dame Lorna worked with five Secretaries for Health in the UK as well as working with clinicians and governments around the world.

In 2006 she was appointed Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside.
