Mike Bennison

Mike joined the group in January 2014 as part of a BP funded industrial partnership working towards the design and synthesis of novel smart-materials for specific applications.

He received his MChem from the University of Sheffield in 2009, having undertaken a year working for GlaxoSmithKline as a member of the Isotope Chemistry group and his final year project under the supervision of Prof. Anthony J. Ryan, focusing on the synthesis of pH-responsive polyelectrolyte bilayers.  Mike subsequently moved to the University of Warwick to conduct his PhD research under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Dove, entitled “The synthesis and ring-opening polymerisation of functionalised chiral O-carboxyanhydrides and cyclic carbonates.”

In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing airsoft and fighting to maintain his status as a space-borne billionaire.
