Charlotte joined the Cooper Group as a Research Coordinator in 2022. After completing her undergraduate MChem degree at University of York in 2012, Charlotte joined the University of Bristol: Chemical Synthesis CDT, and obtained her PhD in 2016. Her PhD was conducted in the group of Prof. Ian Manners, where she investigated the solution self-assembly of block copolymers. She then moved to the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) where she held Banting and Killam Fellowships in the group of Prof. Mark MacLachlan. During her time in Vancouver, her research focussed on the preparation of responsive photonic crystals composites from cellulose nanocrystals.  Following her post-doctoral research, Charlotte spent a year working for a Cambridge-based energy storage start-up.
