Anastasia Vogel

In March 2017, Anastasia joined the Cooper group as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. In March 2018, she has been awarded an individual fellowship for her project under Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Her project PolymersForSolarFuels (Grant number: 796322) will address globally relevant challenges in the field of renewable energy generation and storage and enable the development of sustainable materials for solar-driven evolution of hydrogen and oxygen from water.

Anastasia received her B.Sc. in chemistry from the Georg-August-University in Göttingen, Germany. Her bachelor project involved synthesis and characterization of bio-inspired Cu(I) complexes under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Franc Meyer. She continued her studies towards the M.Sc. degree at the same university working on manganese complexes of the Siamese-twin porphyrin. Gripped by the developments in the field of expanded porphyrins, she extended her research in this area into a PhD project studying the redox behavior of the Siamese-twin porphyrin and its metal complexes.

In her free time, Anastasia enjoys dancing salsa, racing her bike and travelling around Italy.
