The following guidelines cover computer equipment required to take part in the innovative distance learning courses that the University of Liverpool offer.
You will be required to have access to a computer with the following minimum technical specification and accessories:
|PC:||Pentium or comparable processor|
|Operating system:||Windows 7, Windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X 10.2 or greater|
|Memory:||512 MB RAM minimum|
|Hard disc:||100MB of hard disc space minimum|
|Graphics card:||Capable of viewing video over the internet. (Try YouTube with your machine to see if you can play a video file)|
|Sound card:||On board or internal sound card so that the computer can play a music CD|
|Software:||Internet explorer version 6.0 or greater (must be used on MAC computers), Microsoft Office 2003 or later, updated Adobe Acrobat Reader*, Adobe Flash Player*. (Both Adobe products are available via a free* download)|
|Monitor:||Standard monitor of around 17” or larger. If using a laptop one that is comfortable to view for over an hour.|
|Speakers:||Either built in monitor speakers or those built into a laptop. You can also use basic external speakers|
|Headphones:||Standard enclosed headphones or headphones with built in microphone.|
|Broadband Internet connection:||1MBps minimum Internet connection speed|
