Personal Statement

My research interests include Human-Robot Interaction (HRI), biomimetics and brain-based robotics, animal- and robot-assisted therapy, and AI ethics. My research focus spans social, as well as hazardous environment industrial, robotics. Specifically, I am currently employed on the RAIN (Robots and AI in Nuclear Research) Project, developing theory and experimental work that highlights the importance of HRI to acceptability and effectiveness of industrial robotics and autonomy. I also supervise the Computer Science Department's Home Robot Lab, where I explore robotics for social and healthcare applications.
