New online Computer Science masters programmes available
In response to the growing demand of the global digital industry, the university is launching two, new online computer science programmes.
The MSc in Advanced Computer Science and the redesigned MSc in Software Engineering offer working professionals a competitive advantage in developing and advancing their careers towards more senior and managerial positions in the technology and computer science fields.
Professor Frans Coenen, Director of Studies for the University’s online computer science programmes, said: “The digital domain is moving at a rapid pace and disrupting the way industries across the globe conduct business.
"These new online master’s programmes are a direct response to this change and further bolster the University of Liverpool’s reputation for delivering innovative online programmes to today’s working professionals. Focusing on the latest advancements, trends and issues in computer science will prepare students to better address the challenges and opportunities of our time.”
Students on the online programmes will have the ability to study, work and develop solutions in a bespoke cloud environment that mirrors a real-world computer science or IT work environment. This educational platform will allow them to work on different software platforms and conduct simulations as they complete practical tasks to support their professional development, including the creation of a cloud-based portfolio of their work.
Designed for working professionals, the University of Liverpool’s fully online learning model enables students to earn an advanced academic degree without interrupting their career – from wherever they are based in the world. Students enjoy an engaging, global and highly collaborative learning experience that provides them with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills to achieve their goals and to enhance their immediate professional impact.
The start date for both programmes is 28 June 2018.
