Dr Sumanta Sarkar PhD

Personal Statement

Sumanta joined the Rosseinsky research group in 2022 as a postdoctoral research associate. He is working on synthesis and characterisation of next generation Li-ion cathode materials. Prior to that, he was a postdoctoral scholar with Prof. Mercouri G. Kanatzidis at Northwestern University working on the development of mechanically robust thermoelectric materials.

Sumanta earned his PhD degree in 2016 from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru, India under the supervision of Prof. Sebstian C. Peter. Sumanta's primary research interest is focused on solid state synthesis and thorough characterisation of functional non-oxide materials by diffraction techniques for application renewable energy.
