Personal View

I chose to study chemistry at Liverpool University because of the brilliant reputation the university, and more importantly, the department has. The research that takes place in the chemistry department here in Liverpool is internationally leading, and makes a huge impacts around the world. I looked around many different departments when deciding on my choice of university but Liverpool was the only one that really stood out. Not only was the facilities like the new Central Teaching labs incredible, but the whole department was so welcoming. During the open day the staff took time to talk to me and my mum and reassured us that they really do care about each individual student.

My time here has already been amazing. The great variety of subsidiary modules on offer caters for everyone. I chose a life sciences module and innovative chemistry for energy and materials, however there are many other modules on offer including maths, physics, oceanography and archaeology. The staff here are always happy to help with any problems, especially during workshop sessions and labs, which really helps my understanding. Overall Liverpool is an exciting, vibrant city to go to university in. I chose to live in one of the brand new halls on campus which is a two minute walk from my lectures! I have made wonderful friends here and learnt so much, couldn’t have asked for more.
