Dr Peter De Costa from Michigan State University addressed these and other questions when he visited the University of Liverpool as part of the CTELL seminar series on 10th October 2019.

His talk with the title ‘The Emotional and Identity Turn in Second Language Teacher Education: Prospects and Possibilities’ sparked further debate amongst participants on issues that concern all language teachers, such as the role of the sociocultural backgrounds of the teachers, the students and the educational and institutional settings.
