Please note that all participatory workshops are fully booked, but you can use the space and attend the keynote, lightning talks and the plenary.

The first day of the conference will take place on the 25th June and will be accessed through Microsoft Teams. Day 1 will include a selection of online activities such as lightning talks, digital demonstrations, participatory workshops, podcasts and a tweet chat. Registered attendees will be provided with access to the Day 1 Teams space in plenty of time to access pre-conference materials and information.

The theme of this year’s conference is Students As Partners and so we are delighted that our keynote speaker will be Dr Catherine Bovill (Senior Lecturer in Student Engagement at the Institute for Academic Development, University of Edinburgh) who will be discussing her work on the co-creation in learning and teaching: the case for a whole-class approach in higher education.

Following on from the success of last year’s Day 2 event, this year on 26th June we will be hosting an exciting crime mystery through our new VLE, canvas! In puzzling circumstances, an important person vanished before signing the University’s new ‘Student as Partners’ Policy (Daa daaa daa)! But why? Who would benefit from their disappearance? How did they take them? And where are they now? These are the questions that you and your colleagues from the investigating agency (wink wink) will discover on the day!

The programme timetable is available here: Learning and Teaching Conference 2020 Timetable.

Day 2: Mystery at Detective University

10:00 – 12:00

The mystery is located in Canvas. You and your fellow investigators have two hours to traverse the different locations (modules), discover new evidence, interrogate the suspects’ alibis, and examine the Policy! Along the way you also will learn about Students as Partners (SaP) and its potential benefits and implications. You will be given key resources to learn about the SaP Framework and hope the experience will inspire you to try it in your own practice. In addition, you will discover and try various valuable tools in Canvas which could be useful to you when designing your own module.
