Day 1 of the conference took place on the 8th July and was held on Microsoft Teams. The day included a selection of online activities such as lightning talks, digital demonstrations and participatory workshops.
The theme of the conference was Reflect, Revise and Reimagine and included over 40 submissions from staff across the University demonstrating how they have adapted to the challenges of hybrid learning and adapted their teaching practice to support students in learning & teaching.
We were delighted that our speaker was Virna Rossi who facilitated the keynote looking at how inclusive Learning Design was important pre-COVID19, but how it is now become imperative. Virna was supported by co-presenters from institutions from different countries, Charles Wachira (Director of Teaching & Learning, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School), Nokuthula Vilakati (Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching, University of Cape Town), Cassandra R. Stevenson (York University), Alice S. N. Kim (Managing Director of Teaching and Learning Research In Action) and Camille Dickson-Deane (Senior Lecturer Higher Education Learning Design at UTS).
The day 2 event on 9th July offered an opportunity to reflect upon and explore wellbeing in the curriculum within the University.
Attendees considered how to embed wellbeing within curriculum design and collaborated with fellow attendees to design specific learning and teaching activities. The day also included presentations from in-house experts, including professional staff and experienced student representatives from across the University.
