Message us on Handshake!

A new virtual messaging service, just for you.

Our new employability platform, Handshake is here! When you join Handshake you can connect, message, and talk with other students, employers, and our team of  Career Coaches via the Virtual Career Studio.

Message the Virtual Career Studio

Send a message in 3 simple steps:

Step 1: If you are a student or recent graduate of the Liverpool University your Handshake profile is ready and waiting for you to activate. Follow this link and log in or register for your free Handshake account. Registration is quick and easy, here's how

Step 2: Click the 'Send a message' button on the right of this page to enter your question and when you’re ready, press send. You can add images and links to documents if you want anything checking over, like a CV, cover letter, or application. Or you can upload a document to your Handshake profile for us to check, learn how-to here

Step 3: Look out for a notification from Handshake to let you know a Career Coach has responded. We aim to get back to you within 48 hours but usually respond within 24h hours, so keep an eye out!

How to send us your documents

Add them to your Handshake profile and let us know.

You can add documents to your profile on Handshake by clicking on your name on the top right of your homepage and selecting ‘documents’, then ‘upload new document’. You can also add a comment for reference in the ‘comments’ box at the bottom of the page.

Once you’ve uploaded your document use the 3 steps above to send a message to the Virtual Career Studio on Handshake to let us know. A Career Coach will take a look and get back to you.

The documents you might want to share for checking with us are:

  • Cover letters
  • Applications
  • Personal statements
  • CV’s (you can use our new CV360 tool for instant feedback and a personalised report! See below)

Tip: If you don’t want employers to see the document just yet you can uncheck the ‘visible’ box. Then change this to make it visible once you’re ready and it's looking good.

Note: The documents you share should never contain any sensitive information, such as bank details or national insurance numbers. To learn more about keeping your data safe click here.
