A number of UK and international organisations offer business awards and competitions which enable you to compete for financial prizes and support. Competitions are a great way to get involved with enterprise and to test your skills. They provide you with a platform to demonstrate your business idea, an opportunity for invaluable feedback from industry experts and a chance to gain a better understanding of what it will take to make your idea a successful one.
You will be required to demonstrate a wide range of employability skills such as:
- Innovation and creativity
- Marketing and promotion
- Research and development
- Financial awareness
- Presentation skills.

‘Test the market’ and take advantage of the large number of national business competitions which run throughout the year and take part in student competitions.
Take part in our enterprise programmes:
- Design Your Future: In collaboration with Santander, this programme will consist of 10 sessions delivered over 10 weeks. Each session will be delivered by an industry professional virtually. This HEAR Accredited programme will take you on a journey from idea to final pitch. There will be an opportunity for you to pitch your idea to win the following prizes: 1st Prize - £4000, 2nd Prize - £2000, 3rd Prize - £1000.
We will also have funding in place to help you register your business with Companies House at the end of the programme, as well as the opportunity to apply for seed funding.
- Sustainability challenges and competitions: The University of Liverpool Careers and Employability team regularly run sustainability challenges such as the Global Sustainability Challenge.
