We've been through some challenging times recently and the way we collaborate with employers has changed, a lot. To make it easier for employers to capture students' and graduates' attention we've designed effective virtual solutions and want to support employers to engage effectively in asynchronous and synchronous virtual campus activity.
Here are just a few of the virtual engagement opportunities on offer to employers.
Try a social media takeover
We have a captive audience of student and graduate followers accross all of our social channels and running a bespoke takeover is a great way to increase the visibility of your organisation and engage with our followers directly. If you would like to run a takeover on any of the following channels, please contact employerconnections@liverpool.ac.uk for more info:
We also encourage employers to share their pre-existing content for regular promotion. You can email it to us at careers@liverpool.ac.uk.
Host your own virtual event
Last year alone there were over 1,000 virtual events hosted by employers on our careers platform, Handshake. Join us on Handshake to host your own virtual events and promote through the platform to over 26,000 University of Liverpool students and graduates.
If you'd like to collaborate on a more tailored virtual event, please contact the team at employerconnections@liverpool.ac.uk.
If you are already using Handshake at another University, there is no need to create a new account. Just use your current login details, select “Institutions” in the left-hand menu, select the University of Liverpool and click “Request”.
Business Challenges
This year we are encouraging students to “do one thing” that they will be able to use as evidence of their skills and real world experiences in application processes.
If you have opportunities for students to take part in any immersive challenges or competitions you’re running as part of your attraction campaign please contact Jade McGee (jade.mcgee@liverpool.ac.uk) to promote to our students via our ‘Do Something Different’ targeted campaign.
Engaging with students this way helps employers reach students who might not attend a typical recruitment presentation, so this is a great way to tap into hidden talent.
Mock Video interviews on Shortlist.Me
Join a range of employers including Teach First, Astra Zeneca, Cisco and FDM in offering University of Liverpool students and graduates real-world video interviews to practice. The University of Liverpool are the heaviest users of this automated confidence and experience boosting tool in the UK.
To be a part of this email Jason Steers jason.steers@liverpool.ac.uk.
Virtual internships on Forage
Every year more than 1,000 University of liverpool students complete a virtual internship on Forage. Not only do they get remote experience, they also become more aware of employers' skolls, values and core areas of work.
Join the virtual internship revolution and work with us, as a Forage partner, to curate a virtual experience for your company.
Please email the Employer Connections Team employerconnections@liverpool.ac.uk to discuss further.
