Employers: Work with us

Our students are on a journey and we engage employers every step of the way.

Why recruit from University of Liverpool?

With a student population of just over 23,000, The University of Liverpool is one of the biggest universities in the UK. We offer 400+ degree programmes spread across three faculties - Humanities and Social Science, Science & Engineering and Health and Life Science.

We are one of the UK's most targeted universities by employers (High Fliers, 2020) and are the most socially diverse university in the Russel Group and UK leaders in Widening Participation.

We are a university with global ambitions – we have campuses in China, Singapore and London.

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak the Careers & Employability Team have moved online.  The Employer Connections Team are working remotely to ensure our students and employers remain connected using digital solutions.  During this time, we are still keen to hear from employers who want to engage with and recruit our talented students.  Here are some of the ways we can support you;

Advertise your vacancies

If you are still recruiting students and graduates for 2020 roles, we want to hear from you.  We continue to advertise the following opportunities to students and graduates on our website;

  • Graduate schemes, graduate internships and entry level graduate jobs
  • Short internships (2-12 weeks) – support available for SMEs detailed below;
  • One-year undergraduate year in industry placements;
  • Postgraduate research placements;
  • Part-time and/or term‐time work for current students;

Upload your latest roles directly to our website here.  For any queries, contact Jade McGee.

Host a virtual event

We are currently co-ordinating a virtual programme of remote events to help employers remain visible amongst our students over the coming months and to showcase roles still available for 2020.  This will include a series of live webinars, social media takeovers, virtual office tours, practice video and telephone interviews, live case studies, live Q&A chats and many other creative initiatives to engage future talent during these challenging times.  Any existing content you already have available or scheduled can be included in this as well as tailored and bespoke activities which we can plan together.  To get involved and to find out more, contact Grace Berry.

Support for SMEs

We are currently sourcing opportunities from SMEs as part of the 2019/20 Santander Internship Programme and are looking for a diverse range of organisations to provide 8-week full time internships for final year students and recent graduates to complete at the end of their studies. These projects must be paid at the rate of £9 per hour which equates to £2520 in total for the 8 weeks, however through the Santander Programme we will contribute £1260 towards this cost. Current final year students will be available to start full time placements from 1st June.

Many SMEs use this programme as an opportunity to bring some fresh new skills and innovative thinking into their business without any long-term commitment however many do go on to offer permanent roles to their interns having been impressed with the level of talent.  This could be an ideal time to recruit a student to help you develop your digital presence as we all move online.  If you would like to learn more about the Santander SME Internship Programme and how your business could benefit, please contact Paul Cullinan.
