Insecurity and conflict, driven by the consequences of
climate change, increasing population, rapid urbanisation
and the greater mobility of people is becoming an ever
greater challenge.
Research at Liverpool is concerned with conflict
resolutions and responses to disasters and emergencies,
as well as the technological contribution to risk reduction
and security enhancement. Our interdisciplinary expertise
in the biophysical drivers of change, the socio-economic
and socio-political relationships of equity and justice,
and the impacts on livelihood and wellbeing contribute
to the understanding of conflict, and the legal, health,
and cultural issues relating to it.
