Last month we released the first episode of our new PGR-led School of the Arts podcast, ‘Researcher Reflections’.
As the group lead on this project, it has been a few months of organising the team and equipment, planning episodes, finding an editor (huge thanks to David Tierney!) coming up with a name and designing the cover. Setting up a podcast from scratch has really enabled me to develop my organisational skills and ability to take initiative. I and the rest of the podcast team look forward to recording and releasing more episodes reflecting on our research topics, our day-to-day lives, career goals, personal development and more! The podcast is an opportunity to highlight the experiences of postgraduate researchers (PGRs) from various departments within the School of the Arts whilst also promoting discussion and learning in the research community.
In this introductory episode my two fellow PGR’s, Kaya Purchase and Sietse Hagen, discuss how they came to find their research topics! It is a great discussion for all to listen to but particularly those who are prospective PhD applicants and may be thinking about how to find their footing as they write their research proposals.
