My expertise is in the analysis and evaluation of argumentation and rhetorical strategies in communication contexts, such as financial communication and crisis communication. I am interested, more in particular, in examining trust-building and trust-repair discourse strategies and how persuasion and reasonableness are simultaneously pursued in strategic communication. Methodologically, I privilege a qualitative approach including single case-study analysis and corpus-based annotation for the identification of argumentative patterns that reflect broader communication strategies. Current research projects include ‘Research for trust’, with this area of research aimed at investigating how argumentation supports communication and debates around organisational trust. This is in collaboration with different scholars, including Elena Musi (University of Liverpool), Katarzyna Budzynska (Warsaw University of Technology), Mark Aakhus (Rutgers University, NJ) and Andrea Rocci (USI, Lugano).
