Bite club event

All staff and students are invited to share in the success of this year's Learning and Teaching Award winners on 18th April, 14:00 - 16:30.

Josephine Wilkin from the School of the Arts was picked for her series of student events in promoting community and wellbeing, which is the first school-level wellbeing event of its kind.

Josephine said of the award:

"It is great that the importance of work like this is being recognised by the Faculty. This award will grant me additional funding to continue creating preventative measures to ensure the wellbeing of students is looked after and that we are providing students with a holistic student experience.”

Keen to capitalise on the success of these events, Josephine and the team are:

"preparing a large scale rollout of ‘Look After Your Mate’ workshops for new students in September which will equip them with the skills they need to look out for friends who may be in need of support, what to say, and where to go to get help".

Each of the winners will deliver a presentation about their nomination, their work and it's wider impact and the panel will choose one award winner to receive the University Sir Alastair Pilkington Award for Teaching Excellence. The winner of the University award will win an additional £1000 to spend on learning and teaching activities in their Department.

A drinks reception will follow the presentations.

The Learning and Teaching Awards presentations will take place in the School of the Arts library on 18th April 14:00 - 16:30.
