Dr Alistair Cartwright

I am currently teaching Architectural History and Theory focused on twentieth century Britain as part of the undergraduate programme in Architecture.

I have previouslhy taught architectural history as part of Birlbeck college's new MA in the subject and delivered core theoretical modules (focusing on gender, icononography and formalism) within History of Art. Most recently I devised a 7 week survey course for the WEA (Workers Educational Associaiton) examining the history of modern architecture through the lens of urban political revolutions, from the founding of Washington in the 18th century through to postcolonial Accra and contemporary Chile.
