This project in collaboration with National Museums of Kenya, was funded by the British Academy from 2013-2016 and arose from the British Academy centenary project, 'Lucy to Language'.

The project continues as a partnership with the National Museums of Kenya, involving new fieldwork on Kilombe mountain and redevelopment of the Kariandusi Museum.
